the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) has organized
a seminar on "Attraction of overseas Vietnamese intellectuals for
education and training, and science and technology development" in Hanoi. There
were many representatives and participants from VUSTA’s member associations, the
National Assembly Committee for Science, Technology and Environment, the Vietnam
Fatherland’s Front, the Ministry of Science and Technology, as well as agencies
and universities in Hanoi.

fact, it is very necessary to attract overseas Vietnamese intellectuals for the
countrys economic development. And, according to the MoST’s report, there are six
possible solutions to attract overseas Vietnamese intellectuals for education
and training, and science and technology development. It is also important for universities and educational institutions like EPU to draw attention and employ overseas Vietnamese intellectuals in their development process.
Mr. Nghiem Vu Khai, Vice President of VUSTA, has
also concluded that VUSTA, as a representative body of nearly 3 million
scientific and technological intellectuals across the country, would propose to
relevant authorities on how to put more favorable regulations and policies and to
create better conditions for overseas intellectuals to attract their return./.
